The awareness of our natural environment and the language of painting are playing

a continuous role in my work.

Capturing the experience of the local surroundings through the use of differences of gestural intensity in the brushwork,

the varying degrees of opaqueness or translucence, the tonal graduation within

the light and dark areas has resulted in intuitive work of profoundly horizontal spaces, in which we as human beings can experience a disclosure of absence and presence, which is restless yet balanced.
